Only in a fantasy of reality can one believe that somehow all citizens of this nation are equals, possessing the same opportunities and limitations. When was the last time white people were forced to have to live in ghettos, because people of color don’t want them living in their neighborhoods? When was the last time a white person walked into the wrong neighborhood at the wrong time and got shot death without hesistation or question, simply because a person of color “feared for their life” at the very sight of his creamy white skin (inherently criminal!)? When was the last time white people were systematically in massive numbers pulled away from their lands of birth, turned into chattel slaves, and treated with no more rights than farm animals? … Don’t worry, I’ll wait for the answers.
Get real, white folks! Racism is a white people’s invention! And, just because Asians and Jews (and also some black folk!) have managed to survive *despite* the systemic white racist obstacles they face by white society around them, does not negate the reality of white racism – except in a white racist’s mind. The essense of white privilege is to have such free and unbridled white denial of systemic white racism in the United States of America. But, #maga and whitely #inhisimage, yes?
The words of modern white racists are to call the victims of racism the true racists – here, yes, in the 21st century.
Why did “God” allow chattel slavery to happen? Why did “God” allow the Holocaust to happen? Why does “God” allow innocent people to suffer truly horrible experiences and fates? Like all the present victims of war in the Middle East?
Is the answer not obvious enough? It is because “God” is a human imagined fantasy, and humans do these cruelties to other humans – feeling justified by their beliefs in “God”. How can we avoid facing the obvious? When will we really ask: “What” can we do to temper the xenophobic and religious-based hatred inherent in our species?
No “God” of human imagination will ever fix this for us. No matter how great the imaginary plan for us. We must do it. It is up to us, if it is ever to happen!
#maga and #inhisimage #inhislikeness are but present day examples of this historical human indifference.
As a species, we don’t really need formalized/ritualized religions. We don’t need the act of praying, unless it is meant to reflect inwardly and self-motivate. Believing in and praying to human imagined superhuman/supernatural beings is really a terrible waste of time and opportunity. We could be acting on behalf of and for the sake of others, instead.
Reality is what it is, despite our heartfelt human fictions about it. No amount of belief and insistence to the contrary ever changes this. Human imagined beliefs only change our behaviors, from that of love and oneness to that of human defined-and-glorified separation and indifference.
#maga and #inhisimage #inhislikeness are presently words of separation. But they could be words of oneness, if we would only be silent and listen.
