I Have A Problem With This Meme!

Stop! Wait! I have a problem with this. Citizens of the United States of America, please here me out…

This meme assumes that there should only be two choices, Republican or Democrat, and that you must vote for one of these parties. This is the very reason for the political mess our government is in! Governing is not about political party stances, nor about one is right and the other is wrong.

Well then, you may ask, if it’s not about this, then how should we be electing our representatives? Well, let’s ask the most important question: Do we want to live in a functional democracy, that meets the needs of our families?

If so, then we need to be choosing our candidates – minus the party system – based on “qualifications and fitness” for office, and her/his willingness to faithfully serve and represent “the people’s” agendas. Town halls, constituents feedback, and local polling should be her/his platform of legislative action!

Citizens of the United States, it is time to ask ourselves: Do we really want a government that actually works, or not?!

#Resist and #maga by mandating #TermLimits on congressional incumbents and by returning to a democracy of the people, for the people, and by the people!

Maybe it’s time for a people’s party – a non-partisan grassroots organization of citizens that are:

1 – promoting elected representative accountability to the people – their constituents,

2 – every citizen having the guaranteed unfettered right to vote,

3 – a national effort to emphasize voting by community legislative agenda (no party stances on ideology allowed in the halls of government!),

4 – and offering a state by state informational on what the citizen’s majority desires for elected representatives in each district are in each congressional year (achieved by regular polling).

This would be a start, at least, in the right direction for governing our states and our nation! … In the meantime, as we work to achieve this – a fair and representative government that actually speaks for the People – we have to focus on voting out all incumbents, voting in all new faces to represent us in government, and support grassroots efforts such as Indivisible and the CoffeeParty.

  1. “ISIS has as much to do with Islam as the Ku Klux Clan has to do with Christianity.” – Dalia Mogahed

How would you respond to this? I think she’s made her argument, but not in the way she intended. Yes, ISIS and the Ku Klux Klan are both the most fundamentalist of these religion’s extremist ideologies. Hence why, I suspect, they consider themselves to be the true voice, true believers, and true examples of their respective religions. They are so right, that only they are right and all others are wrong – including those of their own religion. Yes, ISIS does have as much to do with Islam as the Ku Klux Klan does have to do with Christianity. Divisive us-versus-them good-versus-evil separatist beliefs are the heart and soul of theistic religions, in general, and of two proselytizing religions, in particular. There is no separating these extremists from the most moderate of believers, they all are justified – in their own way – by the very same book – that they all worship!

#MAGA requires returning to the understanding that this is a secular-born constitutional nation, not a bible-based Christian nation, and returning to the understanding that separation of church and state is the only way to preserve a democratic way of life. So what, the majority of Christians and Muslims are not chopping off heads these days – some still are, and these respective bibles definitely allow for it, in fact encourage it! For religions, theocracy rules over the people – however softly or however viciously as is needed. This is a historical flat fact! So, believers, are we #inhisimage #inhislikeness or are we #underhiseye – which is it? If it is the former, then religion must stay out of societal governmental politics!

  2. Ready to start your new year with alternatives to the highly commercialized religion and nationalism -based holidays? Well, here you go…!

    Secular Holidays By Season
The highlight of the Secular Seasons project, is the collection of events celebrated within the non-religious community at various times throughout the year. In addition to the calendar provided on the home page, here we index these events by month.

  3. Oprah Winfrey. She has the charisma, and she has the populous numbers. If she were to run as a Republican, she would still win! (It’d be the best thing that happened to them, too.) I would vote for her! Especially, if she ran on a Republican ticket.

Think about it – on the heels of America’s first white supremacist president, the 45th reaction to the first two-term black president, comes the first woman president and second black president as our nation’s 46th president – and in office as a Republican to boot! Time to change a nation for the better – to really #MAGA!!!

Sources: Oprah Winfrey ‘actively thinking’ about running for president
Oprah Winfrey is “actively thinking” about running for president, two of her close friends told CNN Monday.

I would love to see the fear on that seventy-some child’s face, if Oprah were to run as Republican and boot him, the incumbent (and pretend Republican), out of the running for 2020! Then, it would be a politics changing and cultural changing face off between Oprah a Democrat. It is just the kind of shake-em-up that America’s two-party governmental system needs. Then, maybe we’ll finally have an Independent who is not beholden to party ideology over the needs of the constituents!

It’s time to change this nation for the better – to really #MAGA!!!

  4. I’m called a “liar” for saying Nazism was Christian-based. But, historical facts are what they are, whether we choose to believe the facts or not – or whether we choose to invent a reality not based in facts. Nazi fascism could not have succeeded without the full support of Christianity in Germany. Think about where the United States is headed, if we don’t #resist the repetitious pattern that is #maga.

What Was a Nazi Church Service Like?
We can easily forget how deeply Christian Nazi Germany was. As historian Doris L. Bergen puts it, “Christianity permeated Nazi society” (9). Although Hitler was not very pious, the 97% of Germans who identified as Christian mostly convinced themselves that he was. Most Protestant Christians at the time were ecstatic at the creation of a newly Nazified world. And they went to church. This new world demanded a renewed church with reinvented liturgies. In the midst of a fierce struggle for control of the churches, the pro-Nazi “German Christian” faction preached sermons, edited Bibles, revised hymn-books, altered liturgies, and changed the church calendar. Sometimes they made drastic changes. At the same time, they inherited a form of Christianity that offered little opposition to Nazism.

  5. First, they give a small payraise (like AT&T), give out bonuses (like AT&T) and, then, layoff thousands of workers (like AT&T and so many others in the upper 20% club). Yeah, that grand old Tax Bill the #GOP gave the rich and their retiring party members (that gives the rest of America a few extra bucks a month) is sure creating a lot more jobs and generosity from the billionaires club! Welcome, United States, to the 21st century #hungergames – aka #MAGA. Time for all new fresh faces in the halls of Congress! November 2018 is a few months away.

Walmart is abruptly closing 63 Sam’s Club stores and laying off thousands of workers
Walmart is abruptly closing 63 Sam’s Club locations across the US, the company told Business Insider. Some stores were closed on Thursday. Others will close at a later date. Many employees were not informed of the closures ahead of the time, according to reports. 10 of the closed stores will be turned into ecommerce distribution centers.

How else are they going to pay for those bonuses and pay raises to select employees? You don’t seriously think they’re going to use their permanent tax break money for this do you? No, that money is going to shareholders and CEO bonuses.

Mnuchin admitted today the Tax Bill’s “whole purpose” was to give companies more money to compete with. Compete with each other for what?
