The Jewish-Arab Conflict Turned Religious By Christians and Muslims

Dec 25, 2017 | | 6 comments

“This (Jerusalem) recognition alters the nature of the conflict from an Israeli-Palestinian issue to a grand conflict between Jews and Muslims.” – Liaquat Ali Khan, 25 Dec 2017 … Exactly! Only Jews and Arabs, together, have a historical ancestral connection to Israel. Christians and Muslims are appropriating this and inciting violence!

Here are three simple truths, and the failure to recognize these truths is the reason for the violence around this world – not just in Israel-Palestine:

Truth 1 – Christianity and Islam are religions only, born from an extremist ideology of good versus evil, with deities that embody this struggle, and both are proselytizing religions.
Truth 2 – Whether from the Middle East, Europe, Africa, Asia, and so forth, Jews are a dispersed historical people with a religion, born from a civil-ritual way of life, the religion part is non-proselytizing and is entirely about the Jewish people’s relationship with our ancestral homeland.
Truth 3 – Only Jews and Arabs have a historical ancestral connection to the lands of Israel-Palestine – and, being not an ethnicity, Muslims and Christians simply do not!

Until we understand this clearly and stop making the Middle East conflict about religion and the religious extremist ideology of good versus evil, violence and hatred and war and sadness will pervade as an inextinguishable fire disrupting the path to real peace. Jerusalem belongs to Jews and Arabs together, for both are the historical inheritors of this land!

Both Christians and Muslims are obsessed with their respective “end of times” prophecies, both believe they possess the absolute god-given truth, both believe the battle of good versus evil will lend itself to an imagined eternal peace, and both believe that “God” is fully on their side. The Middle East conflicts are not *about* these religious extremisms, but are *a result* of it! There is a difference and, regardless what religion Arabs and Jews individually/communally practice (and there are many!), it is safe to say that both Arabs and Jews would like an end to the Middle East conflicts. This can only happen when Christianity and Islam stop battling each other. For, in this, both are “evil” and are blocking the path to peace on Earth!

While evangelical Christians try to #MAGA and while Christians and Muslims try in opposition to make the United States, Israel, Palestine, and all the world #inhisimage #inhislikeness, it is up to the rest of us in this world to find reason and address this extremism with fact-based evidence-based ethical responses!

On December 6, 2017, the United States officially recognized Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. This recognition alters the nature of the conflict from an Israeli-Palestinian issue to a grand conflict between Jews and Muslims. Muslims willing to recognize Israel are refusing to recognize the Jewish sovereignty over entire Jerusalem. The 56 Muslim nations spanning from Morocco to Indonesia reject the Jewish claim over Jerusalem, as do some other nations, including France, Germany, Italy, and Spain, the nations that themselves conducted the Christian Crusades of the Middle Ages.

  1. Facts matter! Everything else is human fiction. Fact #1 is the only one that matters, and two proselytizing religions are preventing it. From the article:

Fact #1: There could have been a two-state solution as early as 1947. That’s precisely what the UN Special Committee on Palestine (UNSCOP) proposed, recognizing the presence of two peoples – and two nationalisms – in a territory governed temporarily by the United Kingdom….

Fact #2: When Israel declared independence on May 14, 1948, it extended the hand of friendship to its Arab neighbors, as clearly evidenced by its founding documents and statements. That offer, too, was spurned. Instead, five Arab armies declared war on the fledgling Jewish state, seeking its total destruction….

Fact #3: Until 1967, the eastern part of Jerusalem and the entire West Bank were in the hands of Jordan, not Israel. Had the Arab world wished, an independent Palestinian state, with its capital in Jerusalem, could have been established at any time….

Fact #4: In May 1967, the Egyptian and Syrian governments repeatedly threatened to annihilate Israel, as these countries demanded that UN peacekeeping forces be withdrawn from the region… The Six-Day War was the outcome, a war that Israel won….

Fact #5: In November 1977, Egyptian President Anwar Sadat broke with the Arab rejectionist consensus. He traveled to the Israeli capital of Jerusalem to meet with Israeli leaders and address Israel’s parliament and speak of peace….

Fact #6: In September 1993, Israel and the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) reached an agreement, known as the Oslo Accords, offering hope for peace… but eight months later, PLO Chairman Yasser Arafat… caught on tape in a Johannesburg mosque asserting that this agreement was nothing more than a temporary truce until final victory….

Fact #7: In 1994, Jordan’s King Hussein, following in the footsteps of Egyptian President Sadat, reached an agreement with Israel, again demonstrating Israel’s readiness for peace….

Fact #8: In 2000-1, Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak, leading a left-of-center government and supported by the Clinton administration, offered a groundbreaking two-state arrangement to Arafat, including a bold compromise on Jerusalem. Not only did the Palestinian leader reject the offer, but he shockingly told Clinton that Jews had never had any historical connection to Jerusalem, gave no counter-offer, and triggered a new wave of Palestinian violence that led to more than 1,000 Israeli fatalities (proportionately equivalent to 40,000 Americans).

Fact #9: In 2008, three years after Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon unilaterally withdrew all Israeli soldiers and settlers from Gaza, only to see Hamas seize control and destroy another chance for coexistence, Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert went even further than Barak in extending an olive branch to the Palestinian Authority. He offered a still more generous two-state proposal, but got no formal response from Mahmoud Abbas, Arafat’s successor. A Palestinian negotiator subsequently acknowledged in the media that the Israeli plan would have given his side the equivalent of 100 percent of the disputed lands under discussion.

Fact #10: At the request of the Obama administration, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu agreed to a ten-month freeze on settlement-building in 2010, as a good-faith gesture to lure the Palestinians back to the table… The Palestinians didn’t show up….

Ten Basic Facts about the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict

In all the discussion about this decades-long conflict and the quest for a solution, some basic facts are too often missing, neglected, downplayed, or skewed.
Not only does this do a disservice to history, but it also contributes to prolonging the conflict by perpetuating false assumptions and mistaken notions.

  2. This is all the Torah one ever needs to know. The rest is ancient myths, explanations, imaginary gods, and time period specific laws.

  3. “The Kotel (Western Wall) is the holiest place to the Jewish people, and I have decided to name the train station leading to it after US President Donald Trump,…” Yisrael Katz, Israel’s Transport Minister, Dec 27, 2017.

Even non-religious Jews find this to be instinctually revolting. If you must build the train, at least give it a decent Jewish or Arabic name. Don’t join in the American evangelical messiah worship! Trump is not a god, he is not a messiah, he is not even a role model to follow. His legitimacy as a president has not even yet been determined!

That Trump guy is nothing more than a narcissistic and hateful bigot and self-admitting misogynist, a self-serving and habitually-lying con man, who is playing the racist white nationalists and evangelical Christians of America for personal gain. Go through with that intention, and watch his lawyers try to get a fee for his name’s use! The citizens of the United States, the greater two-thirds, are deeply ashamed of Trump’s presence and our country’s state of politics.

#MAGA by voting out every Republican who voted for and has defended Trump for their personal gain. This is shameful and not how a democratic government “of the People” is ran! It is time to return to the U.S. Founder’s firm stance in building “a wall of separation between church and state” (Thomas Jefferson, Jan 1, 1802), for the sake of our damaged democracy! For we are sure, as American citizens, that #inhisimage does not mean in Trump’s image.

New Western Wall Train Station To Be Named After Trump
    http://www.jpost.com/Israel-News/New-Western-Wall-train-station-to-be-named-after-Trump-520135
Yediot Aharonot reported on Tuesday that Katz approved the construction plans for the train, that will include a 3 km tunnel from the Umma station at the entrance to the city to the Cardo in the Jewish Quarter.

Taking the Trump train to #Jerusalem next year? What a sick joke!

  4. Don’t you all realize that there would be no nation-state of Israel in the world today, were it not for the last two thousand years of Christian and Muslim social marginalization, ghetto life, and genocide of the Jewish people in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East? Don’t you all realize that if Christianity and Islam had not taken root throughout the goyim world, Jews would have been a peaceful people living in Israel and throughout the world, not really in need of reclaiming a state of sovereign power in our ancestral homeland? Why do you think this all changed? It was after Christian-based “Nazism” that this all changed! It has since continued now with Islamic-based “Nazism” towards Jews and the presence of Jewish sovereignty in Israel. To those who cling without historical knowledge and understanding to the belief that Jews are all white European “colonialists” who are “occupying” Palestine in a state-size “settlement”, ask yourself honestly how do you think this came about?!

Jews have always resided in Israel, often as the majority, and Jews come in all colors and shapes of humanity – for the Jewish family is this far extended throughout the world. There are Jewish families in Israel who family’s lineage extends back to the ancients priests of Jewish temple days. The boycott, divestiture, and sactions “tactic” will not bring resolution to the present Palestinian-Israeli conflict. Only a recognition that Jews are allowed to live their lives in peace and safety – now, once again, under self-sovereign rule – no longer in threat of being attacked, bombed, or religiously targeted for extinction. The anti-Semitic BDS activities are not really about justice for Palestinians or acquiring a Palestinian state, but about returning Jewish people back to a state of Muslim and Christian rule and persecution. The Palestinian Arabs will continue to be the victims of Muslim and Christian “white nationalist” aggression towards Jews, until these two proselytizing extremist “end times” religions cease to be predatorial in nature.

This does not mean that all Jews agree with Netanyahu’s religious-right Israel or seek a one-state solution. Israel is a democratic nation, not an ethnic or religious nation. Only a non-religious two-state “democratic”-both-states solution will bring an end to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. It is religious fanaticism that is preventing this from being achieved!

Alan Dershowitz: Debating the anti-Semitic BDS ‘movement’ with Cornel West
    http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/alan-dershowitz-debating-the-anti-semitic-bds-movement-with-cornel-west/article/2644673
I responded that BDS is not a “movement” — a movement requires universality, like the feminist, gay rights, and civil rights movements. BDS is an anti-Semitic tactic directed only against the Jewish citizens and supporters of Israel. The boycott against Israel and its Jewish supporters (to many Palestinians, all of Israel is one big “settlement;” just look at any map of Palestine) began before any “occupation” or “settlements” and picked up steam just as Israel offered to end the “occupation” and settlements as part of a two-state solution that the Palestinians rejected. BDS is not a protest against Israel’s policies. It is a protest against Israel’s very existence.

  5. “Do you want half of Africa coming here? Sorry to say this, but for us [Yehuda Kimani Njogu] is a goy from Kenya.” – Amos Arbel, Interior Ministry’s Population director.
“I am sorry, but there is no other word to describe this but racism!” – Yael Cohen Paran, Zionist Union.

Imagine a Jew having to religiously “convert” to a European version of Judaism in order to be recognized in Israel as the Jew that he already is – and, then, is deported upon entry, all because his skin is brown in color. Welcome to Netanyahu’s religious-right Israel. Racism in all forms is despicable! And European Jews – of all Jewish people – should know this! Not to mention that the majority of Jews in Israel are Hiloni (Secular), but the religious-right in government requires there to be a religious test applied in order to receive a visa or immigrate.

“To date, Israel has yet to recognize the Abayudaya, the community to which Kimani belongs and which is based in Uganda, as Jewish. They are, however, recognized as Jewish by the Jewish Agency.”

Francis Kimani (“Yehuda”) Njogu, a 31-year-old citizen of Kenya, was turned away even though he had a valid three-month tourist visa to Israel, signed by Israel’s ambassador in Nairobi Noah Gal Gendler.
